As you advance to older levels of play, you will find that many baseball hitters will play certain mind games with the pitcher and pitchers will do the same with hitters. Personally, I would not recommend getting involved in any mind games until the high school level of play or higher whether you are the pitcher or the hitter. One of the better baseball coaching tips to always remember is that playing good baseball requires clever use of the mind and not just the body.
Hitters will ask for a time out when you are getting ready to make the pitch to annoy you. This is not to say every time a baseball hitter does this he's playing a mind game but sometimes he is. They will wander away from the batter's box while you are kept waiting, hoping to annoy you.
If you are well aware beforehand that these things are definitely going to happen, it should be easier for you as a pitcher to deal with them. You know batters are going to do it so why let them accomplish what they want to do and let it bother you? If you do, it's a victory for the batter, isn't it?
As a pitcher, you too can play a few mind games with the batter. It is pretty much a proven fact that working quickly on the mound is beneficial to a pitcher because his fielders have to "stay on their toes." There simply isn't any time for their minds to wander. An added plus is that the pitcher is also sending an indirect message to the hitters that he is extremely confident and can't wait to throw the next pitch to them.
There are times however, when it just might be the right time to slow things down a little! When a very aggressive and anxious batter gets to the plate and it appears that he can't wait to hit, it may be a very good time to step off the mound and rub up the baseball. Hey, if the hitter likes things to happen fast, make sure you slow things down which is the exact opposite of what the hitter wants.
It may be the perfect time to talk something over with your catcher. You may want to motion for your catcher to come out to the mound for a chat. Tell your catcher that you simply are "fussing" with the batter and want to simply talk for a minute. Anything to keep the over anxious hitter waiting impatiently.
When I pitched, if a runner was on first base and a real good anxious hitter was up, I would make sure I came to the set position and would pause there for two or three seconds and then lob the ball to first base. I might do it a second or even a third time also.
I may pause in the set position on the rubber for three or four seconds and then step off the rubber. I could literally see the look of anger on the faces of some of these hitters. Many times these mind games will make the batter angry or very impatient at the plate and swing at pitches out of the strike zone!
Obviously, I would much rather have a hitter thinking about how annoyed he is with me instead of focusing strictly on his baseball hitting. That's a victory for me as a pitcher. Disrupting the batter's thinking means that I've won half the battle before it has even begun!
If you are involved in baseball coaching, just remember that mind games should NOT be played with younger players, who are just starting to learn the game of baseball.

Play Golf Well and Keep Smiling
If you are a golfer and love the game as much as I do, just being on the course will bring a smile to your face. For me, whether I play golf well or not, I enjoy my golf. In fact, just getting ready to leave the house, and drive up to the golf club is enough to make me feel a total sense of release. I feel like an eagle soaring high in the sky where nothing can touch it; golf to me is associated with freedom and yet also a sense of "groundedness" at the same time.
Golf is my relaxation, my release, my reward, a time when I completely shut out the rest of my life (without trying to do so) and each moment brings an alternating sense of peacefulness, excitement, adrenalin, enjoyment, mental focus, satisfaction and fun. The feelings which I experience when playing golf are powerful and positive. It is also a game where you meet kindred spirits and there is so much added pleasure in sharing your passion for this truly magnificent game called golf.
There are days when you go out onto the course, stand on that first tee and choose your target and then watch as your ball travels there like a magnetized beam of dazzling light. Oh wow! What a feeling that is! And then there are other days when you stand on the tee, pick your target and the golf ball shoots off into the trees, defying the laws of physics; and then the feeling is different. You have the challenge of an interesting lie in the rough, or behind a tree, and a demanding shot to look forward to.
That round white ball sits there demanding that you focus clearly and use your imagination to create a unique golf shot; that's an amazing feeling too. Golf keeps your attention; it has the ability to play you like a puppet on a string, if you allow it to do so. You can either rise up to the challenge or give in to it. Some people hate the game; they say that "golf is a good walk spoiled", in which case they should not play it.
In reality, we all especially love the days when everything in your game comes together; the tee shots fly down the centre of the fairway, every putt stays on course, the sun shines but it's not too hot, your playing partners are great fun, and so on. But that really shouldn't mean that you cannot enjoy those other days when it doesn't feel so easy. The key lies in focusing upon the aspects of your golf which you do enjoy no matter what the end result might eventually be.
And so, what are ten things which are guaranteed to make a golfer smile?
1) A beautiful golf course which is kept in peak condition.
2) A great day weather wise - not too hot and certainly not cold and wet, with perhaps a gentle breeze.
3) The sight of your first tee shot flying down the middle of the fairway and staying true to your target.
4) The sound of a long putt "clunking" into the middle of the cup.
5) Making a decent chip in (or even better, a hole in one)
6) Making a great recovery shot.
7) Sitting in the 19th with a drink, talking avidly about the previous 18 holes.
8) Going to watch the Masters, the Ryder Cup or the Open.
9) Gaining a greater level of mastery in your game.
10) The feeling of being in the zone.
It is actually very difficult to pick just ten things which make a golfer smile, for me at least. There's not much about golf which doesn't make me smile!

Are You Sick And Tired Of Constantly Playing The Diet Game?
My doctor told me to ease into my new exercise program so today I drove by the spa, shopped for extra large sweat pants on line, and bought some rice cakes at the grocery store. Is this you?
I wish people would leave me alone about my weight.
OK so I’m not enthusiastic about this whole shaping up and losing weight thing.
It would be nice to look better and be healthier but I hate to diet. Worst of all my insurance costs are going up like crazy.
I hate to exercise even more than I hate to diet.
Is this you?
What if I told you diets don’t work?
Before you say that’s crazy, ask yourself did any diet ever work for you?
The problem is more about the poor quality food you are eating than it is your fault or responsibility that you are overweight and unhealthy.
There are some important questions you need to ask about the “food” you eat.
1. What do you know about the quality of the food you are eating?
2. Do you eat out a lot?
3. Do you eat a lot of fast foods?
4. Do you eat a lot of prepared foods?
5. Do you crave sweets?
The answers to all these questions you tell the whole story. You are probably starving for real nutrients and beset by cravings.
Why?
These types of foods have a lot of salt, sugar, and fat and not much of anything that’s any good.
Sugar is basically worthless and actively harmful, especially in the form of high fructose corn syrup. It is concentrated sugar.
Here’s the reality.
You are in fact starving.
Good nutrition involves getting lots of fiber, vitamins, minerals, some lean protein, and some healthy fat.
If you are mostly eating fast food, prepared food, restaurant food, or convenience food, they have very little of anything you really need except for too much protein cooked the wrong way.
Did you know you are starving?
Probably. You can feel it. You do feel it.
So you eat, but you still don’t get what you need.
We say, “Eat! You just need better food. Find some.”
Go to the grocery and find the real food. Look in the fresh vegetables and fruit. Look at the plain frozen fruits and vegetables, look for fresh or frozen lean meats, and even look in dairy. Only eat whole grains, too.
That’s where you find real food. If you do it right and in the right proportions you lose weight without dieting at all.
After you eat these foods for a while and maybe take some vitamins and minerals, too, you might actually feel like exercising.
Best of all you will be healthier. Being healthier means your costs for insurance and medical care will be lower.

Baseball Pitching Tips: How To Improve Your Control Playing A Game That's Fun!
Take a look at almost any inning in which three or more runs are scored and I would venture that in at least 75% of those innings one or more walks were involved. I teach pitchers that you must throw strikes consistently and I don't care if a batter hits the ball into the trees past the outfield fence. You can NOT give the opposing team free gifts. Often control problems are caused by pitchers OVER throwing the ball instead of throwing the ball.
A lot of people don't realize that control also means being able to throw a ball off the plate and not just over the plate. That means that I can throw a ball three or four inches off the plate to get a hitter out who "chases" bad pitches. If I'm ahead in the count, the batter almost has to swing at the pitch that's just off the plate.
Control obviously also means control within the strike zone. Being able to control pitches up and in or low and away is very important. If I'm shooting for low and away and I'm too high by a foot, the pitch is not nearly as effective and could very well get hit hard.
If I'm shooting up and in and I'm off by ten inches and get the middle of the plate, once again, it's not nearly as effective. If you are serious about pitching, you should aim for a target every time you throw a baseball. Every time you throw a baseball!
When I'm having a catch with my sixteen year old son and I'm NOT behind the plate, we play a game we invented called "Target." We are both very competitive and this game is FUN! Twenty points usually wins and you have to win by two points. We have a regular catch and give each other a target. The target can be left or right shoulder, left or right hip or basically wherever you want to place the target. If you are throwing and are within a foot of the target with a fastball, you get one point. If you throw a changeup or breaking ball and are within a foot, you get two points. (This gives you the flexibility to go after two points if you are trailing late in the game.) Not only will this help your control, but you will have a blast playing it!
Even if you want to insult my son Tyler and I and not play "Target," I have always recommended that to improve your control, aim for a target every time you throw a baseball! It can be your throwing partner's left hip, right hip, left shoulder, right shoulder, etc. How can this not help your control?

High School Baseball Playoffs Are The Ultimate For Me!
I traveled about 30 miles strictly because the atmosphere of a great baseball playoff game is incomparable. At least to me it is. I went to see one of the finest pitchers around facing a team that is loaded with outstanding hitters. What a surprising outcome. I prayed that this outstanding game would be rained out yesterday because I had an umpiring assignment and would not be able to see it. My prayers were answered and this game was postponed until today and I will be able to watch it!
I am really looking forward to watching this game, which starts at 3:00. I go to my favorite deli and order a wedge. It is about about 1:45 and I still have plenty of time to attend this matchup between Suffern High School and Mamaroneck High School. At the deli, I see Steve, a fellow umpire and tell him that I'm going to this game, will be sitting under a tree in the shade, eating a fabulous wedge and watching this classic matchup. I asked him what could be better than this. Steve smiled and shook his head and replied, "Larry, nothing is better." Steve asked me to call him on his cell to give him updates.
The fabulous hitting Mamaroneck team against a very good hitting Suffern team who has the incomparable Robbie Aviles on the hill. Incomparable as in an 0.24 ERA for the year! Are you kidding me? One-quarter of a run per seven innings! It comes as no surprise that he is expected to go high in the MLB draft next week.
Okay, so I make my trip of about 45 minutes and arrive at the park. (Told my wife Wendy that I would drive half way across the country to see this game.) She shook her head, almost insinuating that there is something seriously wrong with me. She very obviously does not share my passion for the game.
I arrive about 2:30 for 3:00 start. I have to get there early to make sure I get to put my chair in one of the best locations at the park to view the game. I enjoy my wedge from Anthony's and wait about ten minutes for the much anticipated first pitch from Robbie.
It is now show time and I'm really up for this game and so are the three hundred or so in attendance. (Very good crowd considering it's a 3:00 start on a work day.) Robbie retires the first Mamaroneck batter. He then walks the number two hitter. His pitching coach visits him on the mound and that sends up a red flag. There is no sense in having a mound visit with this guy on the hill. After about a minute or two passes, it is getting clear to all that something may be very wrong here. Another minute passes and it's now clear that something is definitely wrong. Robbie is removed from the game. Must be an injury, right? Yes it is. Found out later that it was either a groin pull or hamstring problem.
My thoughts are that I traveled to see this classic confrontation and I only got to see Robbie face two batters. What a letdown for me and I'm quite sure many others. Right fielder Nick Kulbaba is summoned to the mound. He warms up for about fifteen minutes because he's allowed as long as he wants because the pitcher was removed due to an injury.
During his warmups I start to think of how each team will react to this sudden change in plans. I don't have the answer as to which team it will help. Will the Suffern team who just lost their ace start to hang their heads? Will the Mamaroneck team benefit? I honestly don't have the answer. But I do know that logic tells me that I would rather face anybody other than Robbie. With all due respect, Robbie is in a class by himself and that's why sometimes a couple of dozen scouts are in attendance.
Okay, we resume play and Nick calmly strikes out two batters to end the top of the first inning. Nick continues to breeze along and does NOT allow a hit until the sixth inning! Not bad, huh? Suffern scores single runs in the first, fourth and bottom of the sixth and lead 3-0 going into the seventh and final inning.
About the fifth inning, I told a fellow I met at the game to not count out Mamaroneck. These guys can hit! Well so much for my predictions. The Mamaroneck bats never got going. Suffern gets a two out hit to knock in their third run in the bottom of the sixth and that one had to sting. At 2-0 you're still in the game. At 3-0 in the last inning, I think you have to be thinking that maybe this is not your day.
In the top of the seventh with one out, Mamaroneck gets a ray of hope with a bunt single. That is only their second hit off Nick. But nothing materializes and they lose 3-0. My thoughts after the game are that I tip my hat to Nick. He came into the game with one out in the first inning and he was lights out and pitched himself a gem. I'll never forget how fabulous he was and hope he never does either. Brilliant performance! And I'm not really bothered that I couldn't watch Robbie, except for only the two batters he faced. Hey...Nick pitched a two hit shutout against the two time defending New York State champions and it doesn't get much better than that.
And Mamaroneck is a perennial power house and their outstanding achievements should never be overlooked either. I've watched them many times as their home field is only fifteen minutes from my home and the reason I attend is to watch great baseball. You would be very hard pressed to find a better program and their coaching staff is second to none.
After the game, in the parking lot, I met up with the three umpires who were assigned this very important game. I asked the plate umpire what made Nick so dominant. He simply told me that Nick had a good well located fast ball, good curve ball and he mixed in about five or six changeups. That's pitching isn't it?
No I didn't get to see Robbie but this truly was a great game. Hats off to both teams and thanks for a great afternoon at the park. What a pleasure! To me, this is the best deal on earth. No charge to park my car. No charge for tickets. Completely free to watch these two outstanding heavyweights square off.
No losers in this one. Only one winner but no losers!

The Role a Positive Mental Attitude Plays in Success
Enough can not be said about the influence a positive mental attitude can have on your life. By adjusting your attitude to think primarily positive thoughts you can literally make all your efforts easier and more enjoyable as well! As a result your ability to become successful in any facet of your life is greatly increased since you more or less expect to succeed.
Let's break down exactly why it is that by maintaining positive thoughts you can actually increase your chances to become successful.
Dilutes Negative Feelings
Your self doubts and recent setbacks are now de-emphasized allowing you to be more proactive and productive. Negative feelings can sap your energy and will power as fast as a switch can turn off electricity.
Creates the Motivation to Take Action
The feeling of well being that a positive attitude can give you also supplies you with the willingness to move forward and take action. This is simply because you feel good about things and therefore success is the only thing you expect!
Helps Build Momentum
As your passion or zeal builds so does your momentum, much like running down a hill! The deeper you get into your pursuits, the greater the momentum is you are building since you are seeing results/progress which motivates you to continue forward.
Helps Sustain Efforts
Your own momentum coupled with feeling good about what you are doing will help you work through many obstacles you may encounter. Setbacks are not something likely to discourage you to the point of quitting. These will be view more as learning opportunities.
Creates an Attraction
There is no doubt that if you are truly passionate about something others 'pick up' on this and it increases their curiosity. This also increases your level of attraction as well making the support of others easily available. This type of support is a great source of encouragement for those times that things may not be going your way.
Possessing a positive mental attitude immediately decreases your stress levels but it also increases your chances to become successful at just about anything. It all starts with your attitude, which by the way is actually a choice you make, and your willingness to maintain positive thoughts. Your thought process is normally projected in the disposition you display to others. If your attitude is negative, this will only succeed in making you less attractive to others while also increasing the difficulty of everything you do. A negative person is only working 'against' themselves! Maintaining more positive thoughts on the other hand tends to give you a much 'sunnier' disposition. Having a 'can do' attitude will make success come much more easily to you for reasons as explained in the 5 examples reviewed above. So why not give yourself and those around you a break starting today and choose to be more positive. When you consider this will give you a greater chance to become successful, along with a less stressful life, it seems this choice is an easy one to make!

How To Play Guitar In 14 Days
With the proper guidance and focus you can learn to play guitar in only 14 days. Do one step a day for 2 weeks and after 14 days you will know how to play guitar. Some of these steps will require that you do a little search engine research or visit a “free guitar lessons” site.
Day 1 – Learn the names of all your guitar strings. Starting with the lowest or thickest string and moving across your guitar strings are E –A –D –G –B – E . Play each string and say its name while you play it. I find it helpful if you “sing” the name along with the guitar string.
Day 2 – Learn how to hold a guitar pick. Either Google “how to hold a guitar pick” or visit my website to learn. Today, practice holding your pick correctly and randomly playing each string on your guitar while “singing” its name.
Day 3 – Learn how to fret a guitar string. Your finger needs to be just behind the fret to maybe halfway between the fret you want to play and the next fret towards the tuning pegs. When you pick the guitar string there should be no buzzing of the string anywhere. Practice playing and fretting your strings at random places all over your guitar neck. Work on it until you get a nice clear tone.
Day 4 – Learn how to tune a guitar. Using either an electronic tuner or by tuning a guitar to itself, today learn how to tune your guitar properly. Find as many ways as possible to tune it by searching the Internet. Learn which frets on the lower strings are the same notes as the open string above it. For example: the 5th fret on the E string is the same note as the open A string.
Day 5 – Learn how to play an open G Chord. The open G chord uses all six strings and is one of the easiest chords to form. There are two acceptable ways of forming this chord: one that use your pinky and one that does not. Find and practice playing this chord both ways. The practicing point here is to fret the strings that need fretted while allowing the open strings to ring out. This requires a nice arch in your fingers.
Day 6 – Learn all the notes on your low and high E strings. Starting with the low E string open, play each fret and say the name of the note. Working your way up the guitar neck the fretted notes are these: F – F#(sharp) or Gb( flat)- G – G# or Ab - A –A# or Bb -B – C – C# or Db - D - D# or Eb – E and repeat. Do the same for the high E, the thinnest string, the notes are the same.
Day 7 – Learn how to do alternate picking on your guitar. Alternate picking is when you pick a guitar string going down and then the next note or string you pick you pick going up. This is the best way to learn guitar picking as it requires the least amount of effort and is also the fastest way to pick a guitar. Practice alternate picking on open strings starting with just one string then randomly moving from one string to the next picking down one string and then up on the next.
Day 8 – Learn how to play the open C Chord. The open C chord usually uses all 6 strings although some guitar players don’t play the lowest string. There are 2 generally accepted methods of playing this chord, find them both and practice strumming this chord today again making sure that your open strings ring clearly.
Day 9 – Learn all the notes on your A string and D string. Like you did with your two E strings, start with the open strings and then say each note or sing it, as you work your way up the guitar neck on both your A and D strings. Note that the 6th fret on your E string is the same note as the 1st fret on your A string. Same is true for your A and D strings.
Day 10 – Learn how to play an open D chord. The open D chord requires a little more finger dexterity than the open G and C chords. You will only need to strum the top 5 or 4 strings to play this chord. Practice playing this chord without hitting your low E string.
Day 11 – Learn how to switch from your open G chord to your open C chord. Today you will practice switching between your open G chord and your open C chord. Since there is more than one way to play each chord, practice the various combinations until you find the one that works best for you. Practice going back and forth between the two chords, randomly selecting how many times you play each chord. Go as slow as you have to.
Day 12 – Learn all the notes on your G and B strings. Just like we did before, however notice that even though the 6th fret on your D string matches the first fret on your G string that it’s the 5th fret on the G string that matches the 1st fret on your B string.
Day 13 – Learn to switch from your open G chord and your D chord. Today you need to practice switching between your open G chord and your open D chord, like we did with the G and C chords.
Day 14 – Play a song. Ok now we’re going to tie it all together by playing a little guitar song. Nothing fancy, but we need to finish the day knowing how to play guitar. Strum the chords we learned previously in the following pattern, starting with simple light strumming. Once you have the pattern down, try and fancy up the strumming a bit. Play the G chord 16 times (tap your foot along to count), then the C chord 8 times, the G chord 8 times, the D chord 8 times, and the G chord 8 times again. This is the entire pattern. When you finish start it over from the beginning. This should sound like a familiar song to you. And guess what? You’re playing the guitar.

Baseball Coaching Tips: How Players And Coaches Should Deal With Hitting Slumps
Very simply, a hitting slump occurs because of something that you are now doing that is mechanically incorrect when swinging the bat or it can be something that you were doing correctly and now you are not doing it. In other words, either you have developed a bad habit or have gotten away from a good habit.
The reason we have hitting coaches is because even the great hitters, some who are professionals, occasionally get off track. No matter how good a hitter you are, it can be a very common problem to fall into the much dreaded hitting slump. That's one of the reasons a very good hitting coach is extremely valuable.
Rather than focus on the entire swing, focus on specific areas to narrow it down as to where the problem is. It's very helpful to divide a player into two sections, his lower half of the body and his upper half. Use a clip board and block your view of the player's upper body and focus solely on the lower part, to make sure the hitter's "foundation" is okay. If all seems okay with the lower half, block the lower half with the clip board and focuses on the upper half. Sometimes changing the angle that you are watching the batter will help also. When advising the hitter, always remember that visual is better than verbal.
Hard work, practice and several repetitions are the best remedies for curing a mechanical slump. Some hitters try different methods to end their slump as quickly as possible. Some try to hit the ball the opposite way. The theory is that they will have to wait on the ball and let it come to them, instead of being too anxious and not "staying back" on the pitch. Some try to hit the ball right up the middle of the field. The theory here is that usually, if you hit the ball up the middle, a lot of things have to be done properly, such as your timing.
Common Causes For Hitting Slumps:
* Check your swing from Point "A" to Point "B." Point "A" is where you load up, cocking the wrists and the hips. Point "B" is where you make contact with the ball. Make sure that you are going A to B in a straight line. You must swing directly to the baseball! The slightest loop in your swing causes you to lose a fraction of a second. A fraction of a second is an eternity when it comes to hitting a baseball. The very start of the baseball swing is a downward movement and is not level at all. The back of your bottom hand faces the pitcher at the start of the swing and only at contact should you have one palm up and the other palm facing down.
* Make sure that your front hip is staying closed and not opening up too early.
* Make sure that your front shoulder stays closed until the pivot foot and hips open the front shoulder.
* Make sure that your back shoulder is not collapsing and going lower than your front shoulder.
* Make sure you are getting good pitches to hit. When in a slump, it is a very common problem to swing at bad pitches. The very natural tendency is to get a hit and have your slump be a thing of the past. Looking for that all important hit can easily cause you to be too anxious and chase bad pitches.
When you have figured out what the mechanical problem is, you can make good use of the "soft toss drill" so you can repeat the rediscovered proper way many, many times. You can get many repetitions without even being at the ball park and making good use of the "soft toss" will speed up the time it takes to get back on the right track. You can hit a hundred balls in no time at all.

Tips to Improve Physical Fitness and Conditioning in Soccer Players
"The dictionary is on the only place you will find Success come before Work"
- Vince Lombardi
First I should address an important concept. Becoming physically fit is as much a mental task as it is a physical one. Are you going to be mentally strong enough to get up early in the morning and go for a run? Are you going to be motivated enough to hit the weights and work on developing your strength? Are you going to have the disciple to spend the time needed to improve your flexibility? If you're serious about becoming a Soccer star, then you should have no shortage of motivation.
I know some of you may dread the thought of going to the gym, or running on your own time, but if you really want to achieve your dreams, it's something you're going to have to get used to. Give it a chance. Once you get into a consistent physical conditioning routine, working out becomes fun. Challenging yourself becomes like a drug (a good one), you'll become addicted. Oh yes kids, I forgot to mention: stay in school, don't do drugs! It's not good for your Soccer career. But seriously, once you get over that initial hump, physical conditioning can be a lot of fun, a stress reliever, it does wonders for your self confidence, and not to mention it is a crucial ingredient in achieving your full potential as a Soccer player.
Contrary to popular belief, fitness is more than just running endless laps and doing sprints. There are several components of being physically fit. For the purpose of this book I have separated Physical Soccer player development into four categories:
o Strength & Power
o Flexibility
o Endurance
o Speed
Below are a set of examples of how you may improve each area of your Physical fitness. Realize that these are only examples; you can implement them into your training regime or come up with your own. The choice is yours.
Strength & Power.
If you're not already on a Weight training program, you need to get on one. Be sure to focus on "functional training" rather than "body building"; looking good is one thing but performing well on the field is a whole different topic. Use full body movement exercises like, squats, dead lifts, bench presses, and clean & jerks.
If you're below the age of 14, can't afford a gym membership, or don't have access to a gym, you should focus on body weight exercises. Different variations of Pushups, Squats & Lunges, Chinups & Pullups, and different core exercise, can be used to improve your physical strength and power.
Whatever the case start today, even if you're doing 20 pushups, 20 situps, and 20 squats, every other day you need to start now. I would suggest at least a day of rest between training the same body parts.
Flexibility.
Realistically you should stretch every day. Stretching does wonders for your general health & fitness as well as improves on field performance. Take 15 minutes out of your busy day and stretch the major parts of your body. Hold each stretch for at least 20 seconds and focus on breathing. The stretch should be slightly uncomfortable but not unbearable.
Endurance.
The game is 90 minutes long. Can you play at a top level for that long? The best way to improve your endurance is by running. You can run every day, if you're really committed. You should start with at least 3 times a week. All it takes is 15 minutes. Over time you can increase the length of your runs and the speed at which you run.
Speed.
To increase your speed you will have to focus on sprint training. Do a combination of Hill Sprints, and flat ground sprints (30, 50, and 100 yard variations). I would recommend at least twice a week. Focus on quick starting accelerations and once you get to top speed, hold it. Aim to go a little faster every time!
Don't make the mistake of neglecting any aspect of your physical fitness.
All of these areas work together. Improving one area will in turn improve others. Improving all areas of your physical fitness is going to take commitment, dedication, and hard work, but I know you can do it. Now get off the couch and put in some work! Actually, read the rest of this book first, then you can get to it.

It is said that if the dress of the bride is a floor-length gown, then her bridesmaids should wear the same length dress. Conventionally, the responsibility of choosing the style, color, and fabric for all the bridesmaids' dresses, is bestowed upon the bride and she takes this responsibility as a privilege to do so.
The bridesmaids’ body types may differ and therefore, some brides go for a dress manufacturer that provides different styles in the same fabric and color with more elasticity. Almost in every occasion, whether you go for a traditional single bridesmaid dress or a flexible one, your main concern should be finding dresses that complement your wedding gown and wedding style altogether.
Always keep in mind that though you can't order these beautiful bridesmaid dresses just like that, but as each dress manufacturer has his different size chart, so, in order to make sure their dress will fit them suitably, your bridesmaids need to get professionally measured by the manufacture.
Integrate Fun and Learning with PC Games
Children are always up for a good game. Well, who isn't? Pretend that you are back in school. For the rest of the class period you have two choices as to how you can spend your time. Option #1 is to struggle through endless arithmetic and English worksheets without any feedback except for a stamp that says "Great Job!" Option #2 is to work on the same arithmetic and English content, but on a computer. Yes, you can play a computer game to learn your numbers and verbs. Which option would you choose? Which option would children most likely choose? Option #2 of course!
Using computer software in education is not a new concept. Computer games have been used as a learning tool for the past two decades because they help students with basic skills, logic, problem solving, and various other academic skills. The Oregon Trail was a popular computer game in the 1980's. This game helped students to work on their planning and problem solving skills. If you have ever played that game you might have realized that it was difficult to complete the trail. Everyone in my wagon always died of Cholera.
Parents and educators that are unfamiliar with computer game technology may automatically dismiss the use of computer games for learning. They view computer games as nothing but "shoot 'em up" and mind numbing entertainment. As avid computer gamers we all know that they are way off base. Just think of all the problem solving, logic, and planning that goes into working on a team in a computer game, playing a puzzle, or figuring out a code.
There are computer games that are specifically based around educational learning standards. These games explicitly include counting, grammar, etc. They range from learning software that has a battery of tests to mimic standardized testing to fun, interactive learning games such as Caillou Magic Playhouse. This game allows a child to learn about numbers, patterns, spelling, phonics, and many other skills.
One advantage of using computer games in education is that the student is learning whether they realize it or not. Many children sigh when it is time to work on multiplication, but if you bring out a computer game - poof! They suddenly want to go through their multiplication tables. The computer game presents the same academic material, but makes it fun by integrating colorful animations and cool sounds. Plus, computer games allow for instant feedback and gratification. We have become a society that runs on instant gratification. A computer game can provide this feedback and it can also provide a means of competition. You will be stretched to find a student that wants to "beat" their worksheet, but a child who wants to beat a computer game? You will find them everywhere you look.
Computer games are advertised as forms of entertainment, which they most certainly are, but they are learning avenues as well. Gamers of all ages are learning every time they play a game. For example, there are games that work on your business skills. Games like Lemonade Tycoon and Mall Tycoon are prime examples. You are learning the skills to succeed in a business through simulation. Simulation is how many professionals acquire the skills for their occupation. Even though you are in a computerized environment, you can still come across many different business situations.
Computer software is here to stay. Email will one day override handwritten communication and perhaps games will take over traditional education. Granted games most likely will not take over traditional education, but they should become part of the educational experience. A child is learning while playing a computer game. Their memory and reaction time increases. They are sharpening various parts of their brain. The key is to play a mixture of games that range from pure entertainment to ones that are specifically designed for educational skill sets.
If your child or student is having trouble with math, English or any academic subject, set them up with a computer game. Their interest in learning will soar. Computer games can bring any student that is hesitant about school to learning whether they realize it or not. Computer games make learning fun.

Reviews of the Latest PC Games
Finding some good information on the latest PC games can be quite a difficult task. I've tried to do a Google search with the key words 'latest PC games' or 'current PC games'. I got thousands of replies but most of them were not what I was looking for. I've been keen on playing PC games for a long time and I've always found it hard to come across any decent sites giving updated information about the latest PC games. Nowadays all the attention goes to gaming consoles and thus, finding news on computer games is getting harder and harder.
Probably the most popular gaming platform are computers. So you can look for the latest PC games on websites devoted to them. It is not really difficult to find lists of new games and their prices but it is a couple of times harder to find any good sites which offer reviews about the newest PC games. If I have to recommend you some sites I'd suggest you had a look on my personal favourite ones - Gamespot, Gamespy, IGN, and Gamezone.
You can always find recent reviews of the lastest PC games on them, as well as some information on the most popular and newest console videogames. Even though I sometimes fully disagree with the reviews published, I still believe they are useful, at least you can get some basic info about the game, for example what it's genre is. In my case, if it's not one of the types I like, I don't purchase it and save some money. If I have genuine interest in a particular game I usually read at least a couple of reviews on different sites about it. That way I get all the information I need before going to the store and buying it.
One of the reasons why you should try to get as many reviews as possible about a PC game before purchasing it is because the price of the latest games varies about $50 per title. I cannot imagine anything worse than spending your hard-earned money on a new PC game which might turn out to be a beta program filled with bugs, a game with a poorly conceived plot. However, it is true that most of the latest PC games are no good, as the standard is getting lower and lower.
Being completely honest, I have to admit that from time to time even nowadays a real treasure comes out of the blue. This gem gets much more appreciation and popularity now because the rest of the new PC games are not worth it. I try to regularly check for news on the latest PC games on varies sites with the only hope to find and buy one of these gems.

Find Out Which PC Games Are Vista Compatible
Do you know that for games, there is no other PC operating system that offers as great a variety as an operating system released by Microsoft? Therefore Windows Vista from Microsoft is no exception. May be you will find some compatibility problems when operating games using Windows Vista despite promises by Microsoft for complete backward compatibility. Though you will not find any list of Windows Vista compatible games, there are ways to check if a specific game in which you are interested is compatible with Windows Vista and results to better PC Health.
Officially Compatible
Always remember that Microsoft Windows Vista is backward compatible with all other Microsoft Windows systems to Windows 95. If you are looking for a game that's likely to run flawlessly on Windows Vista, try to look for the "Certified for Windows Vista" logo or the "Works with Windows Vista logo." Both of them are official designations and guaranteed to work with Windows Vista. You will find that the certified logo denotes a product that was both designed and tested for Windows Vista, while the Works With logo identifies products that are Windows Vista compatible. You will see that not all games are put through these tests, so some without the logos will still work on Windows Vista.
Updates
Remember that you should always keep your drivers up to date when you are using Windows Vista. All those compatibility problems with games in Windows Vista can be fixed by installing the latest drivers or by applying the most current software patches. The very first step that you should take in dealing with any incompatibility problem is to see if you are up to date.
Workarounds
If you want get your games to work in Windows Vista, you may have to perform a few workarounds when running them. You will find that some issues with games will be unable to run in Windows Vista stem from the operation of Windows Vista's User Account Control (UAC) safety measure. If you need to grant permission for running software can sometimes pop up when a game is loading or operating. This can cause the game to malfunction while waiting for you to give it a permission to continue. By turning off UAC can solve this problem, but it will leave you without the safety measure in place.
If you find out that the game was designed and ran successfully in earlier Windows versions, then by running the file in compatibility mode solves many of the game's problems with Windows Vista. The compatibility mode will run the file as though it is being operated on an earlier version of Windows, back to Windows 95. It can also allow you to choose to run the game in only 256 colors or in 640 by 480 screen resolution, both requirements in earlier game designs. Remember that you can open the compatibility mode through the file properties settings by choosing the compatibility tab.
If your games are made for DOS operating systems, you will need to get a DOS emulator such as DOSBox. DOSBox emulator is freely available for download from their website listed in the reference section. It has been tested on Windows Vista therefore it will not affect your PC Health.
